Drone Photography & Videography
DESCRIPTION
Enriching your audio-visual project with dynamic aerial shots has never been easier before. This course introduces its students to the basic principles of drone photography and drone videography, helping them develop their own personal visual language that will take their projects to a whole new level.
A step-by-step theoretical and practical training approach is adopted, sharing international expertise about basic filmmaking techniques, planning and organizing an aerial shoot, drone flight maneuvers, avoidance of mistakes and much more. The course culminates (on day 2) in a demonstration of 2 real-life drone photography and videography scenarios, which can be used by students as reference cases for their future professional or leisure projects.
Drone Photography & Videography Course is being organized under the flagship of the World UAV Federation (WUAVF), which is the leading organization representing and serving the global drone industry.
AUDIENCE
This course is designed for drone enthusiasts, UAS pilots and entry-level filmmakers with an interest in drone photography and drone videography. It is also ideal for amateur and professional photographers, aerial mappers, journalists, and operators that use drones in their daily work routine.
TRAINING OBJECTIVESS

- Acquire the basic knowledge and skills that will allow students to use
effectively a personally-owned drone for aerial shooting - Inform students about the Basic Filmmaking Techniques
- Present modern Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) widely used for aerial
photography & videography, their technical specifications, and the proper use
for aerial shooting. - Demonstrate real-life Aerial Photography & Videography scenarios from start
to finish, which will be useful to students as reference cases for their future
professional or leisure projects.
- Acquire the basic knowledge and skills that will allow students to use
CERTIFICATION
WUAVF All graduates will receive a World UAV Federation (WUAVF) Certificate of completion and a SILVER annual membership card.
INSTRUCTOR
Moris Gkormezanos is a freelance cinematographer and photographer. He holds a BSc in Film and Television Production from the University of York, UK. Moris has trained and worked as a camera assistant on various feature film productions, including Roza of Smyrna (2016) and Jamaica (2017), and as a camera trainee on the team of acclaimed director of photography Woo-Hyung Kim on the BBC-AMC co-production, The Little Drummer Girl (2018). Moris’ work as a cinematographer and camera operator consists of narrative short films, documentary series such as Parallel Lives (2018-2019) for the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT 2), and promotional corporate films for a diverse client base. His professional background and passion for powerful visual storytelling and aerial drone filming, led to his appointment as the Drone Cinematography Advisor of the Hellenic Chapter of the World UAV Federation.

The duration of the Drone Photography & Videography Course is 2 days, including 16 training sessions.
