Panagiotis Aposporis
PhD candidate Mr. Panagiotis Aposporis is an experienced Military Pilot, IT Manager and Teaching Professional with a demonstrated history of successful working in large scale complex projects and initiatives, both in Greece and abroad. He is a 3rd year PhD student and a part-time faculty member in the European Communication Institute, at National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), at the Hellenic Air Force Academy and Donau Universität Krems of Austria. His Doctoral research investigates the secure and safe integration of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), as members of Internet of Things (IoT), in a complex civil-military aviation environment.
He holds a Msc in Computer Science, with specialization in Network Security from the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, California (USA), and he is also a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (ISSP).
He has a diverse background with more than 2,500 flight hours, working experience in Informatics Directorate at the Department of Defense, participating in the UAS and IoT development being an experienced teaching professional focused on UAS and their technologies. His expertise extends also in web technologies, network security, IT programs management and counter- UAS measures.
He shares his expertise through a number of scientific publications, journals, lectures in workshops and conferences as well as participating in NATO and EU projects. He also authored a book, named “The Book of Drones”, which is an integrated guide for UASs, used by many Universities and faculties in Greece.
His impressive background and professionalism led to his appointment as Counter- UAS Advisor of WUAVF Hellas with the mission to monitor and support anti-drone initiatives in Greece and southern Europe.
